Mum’s Birthday

My mother is 73 years old this day and would like a mobile phone with a digital camera for her Birthday and Christmas. How times have changed. Gone are the days when Grandmothers asked for knitting needles and wool for Christmas.

My weight: 12 stones, 168 pounds, 76.20 kilograms.

Running conditions: Cold, 6 degrees C with frost beginning to form on the ground. Time of run: 22:00 hours.

30 sit-ups and 10 press-ups completed before starting the run.

I ran with Steve same route as twice before. This time we completed the route in 19 minutes and 4 seconds, an amazing 2 minutes and 24 seconds quicker, I can’t believe it! I must be dreaming.

I did feel very tired at the end, the tops of my thighs were hurting and I felt as if I would cough up blood, I didn’t, but there was a “blood” taste in my mouth. Something I have experienced before after a hard run or workout.

Wednesday 20th December 2006

My weight: 12 stones, 168 pounds, 76.20 kilograms. - No change.

Running conditions: Cold, 5 degrees C with freezing fog. Time of run: 21:10.

20 sit-ups and 10 press-ups completed before starting the run.

My running buddy, Steve decided that we would run a slightly different route today. An estimated extra half-mile added. We ran for 26 minutes and 23 seconds. The pace was not difficult and my legs didn’t hurt too much.

Saturday 23rd December 2006

My weight: 12 stones, 168 pounds, 76.20 kilograms. - No change.

Running conditions: Cold. Time of run: 21:00

0 sit-ups and 0 press-ups completed before starting the run.

My running buddy, Steve decided that we would run a slightly different route yet again today. An estimated extra half-mile added on. Now we are running about 3 miles. Steve drove it in his car. We ran for 30 minutes and 41 seconds, a nice steady pace. I felt good after this run. Maybe I'm getting fitter.

Thursday 29th December 2006

I haven't weighted myself for a number of days now. It was Christmas after-all and I may have eaten a little bit to much.

Running conditions: Cold-Mild, about 11 degrees C. Time of run: 21:00

20 sit-ups and 10 press-ups completed before starting the run.

Steve drove the route in his car. Same route as we had done previously. It's 3.1 miles. We manage to run the route in 29 minutes, 23.50 seconds. My legs did hurt and I could feel the muscles in my thighs trying to get out of the skin that encased them on my legs.
