Old Lyonians 4th team still had an outside chance of being promoted to the 4th division above but this would certainly mean that we would have to win all our remaining games, not impossible, but difficult. Today we played Old Wilsonians 7's who were bottom on the league and fighting to stay up. They put up a strong fight but in the end we won. Old Lyonians 5 - 2 Old Wilsonians. However due to the lack of players and players not turning up as planned I had to be the Goal Keeper for the match. I didn't get the chance to run around on the pitch to help my training but I was pleased that we won and that I had only let in 2 goals.

Old Lyonians 4th team's outside chance of being promoted to the 4th division above was still on but winning every game was a “must”. l was back in defence and running around on the pitch which I prefer. The follow is from Ian the 4th team captain's match report. - i hope you don't mind me using this Ian - “A hot day and a lively pitch meant for a bouncing ball against Old Westminster Citizens on Saturday at the view. This was a far cry from the mud, cold and swirling rain in the corresponding fixture away at Mitcham in January - which I much preferred. The other major factor in the game was no Glen. Glen, after what he has been through, is lucky to be alive and be able to play again, although it will be at least a year before he kicks a ball again. Our thoughts are with him and his young family”. We won 3 – 1 and moved even closer be promoted. Next week I was not going to play as the London Marathon would be the next day.

Completed the 3.5 mile route in 29 minutes, 33.63 seconds. My running time for the 3.5 mile route is consistently under 30 minutes and I am very pleased with myself as I am now finding this distance easier to complete. There is only a week to go until the marathon and my time is now being spent trying to get different people to sponsor me. I have been pledged over £800.00 for the 2 Charities I am collecting for. I still hope to raise 2 thousand pounds.
